Mr. Mansfield
Hello! My name is Mr. Mansfield, although most of my students know me as “Coach Eddie.” I’m originally from Tellico and am fortunate to spend my days working with students in grades 3–5 as a Math Intervention teacher.
Outside of school, my greatest role is being a dad to my two daughters, Cadence and Braylyn. Our family is always on the go, and if we aren’t at school, there’s a pretty good chance we’re watching, playing, or talking about sports. And, of course, no Mansfield family bio would be complete without mentioning Oakley, our four-legged family member who keeps us entertained and definitely thinks he runs the house! I’m also a huge Tennessee Vols fan, so there’s usually some kind of orange somewhere around us.
When I’m not teaching, I’m on the basketball court as the Head Boys’ Basketball Coach at Madisonville Middle School, where I'm entering my fourth year leading the program. I’m extremely proud of our past and current players for the culture they have helped build, including back-to-back Monroe County championships.
Whether I’m teaching in the classroom or coaching on the court, I believe the most important thing I can do is build genuine relationships with my students/players. I want them to know that I believe in them, that I care about them, and that I’m always going to push them to be their best.
Because at the end of the day, students may forget what you taught them, but they won’t forget how you made them feel.
