All About Me
BA Human Growth and Development
2013 Tusculum University
Hello! My name is Angela (Angi) Leonard and I am blessed to be a 3rd grade ELA and Social Studies teacher at MIS. This is my 2nd year at MIS. This is also my 1st year being the cheerleading coach at MIS. I taught ELA at MMS before transferring to MIS. I have been a certified teacher since 2013. Prior to coming to Monroe County, I have taught all academic subjects in grades K-8 in surrounding counties. I enjoy getting to share my love of reading with my class. I hope to instill in my students a love of reading and a desire to always strive to do their best and to never give up.
I earned my teaching degree later in life after being a stay at home mom. Before my children were born, I worked with children ranging in age from newborn to 18 years old. When I was a child, I would line up my dolls and stuffed animals to “teach” them their ABCs and 123s. I have always had a love for teaching and am blessed to have had the opportunity to make that dream come true.
I grew up in and still live in Lenoir City with my family. I am married to my amazing husband and have 3 beautiful children and 5 fur babies. My favorite hobbies include dancing, singing, reading, spending time with my family and fur babies. I also love watching UT football. Go Vols!!
I look forward to an exciting school year at MIS. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need anything. You can reach me on Class Dojo, by email, or by school phone.
