Reading and Writing Instruction for the week of April 20th.

FUN FACT!  April 20th is National Cheddar Fries Day>  grab some cheddar fries through a drive-thru or make some at home!  While you enjoy those cheddar fries take a look at the cool “Covid-19” reading articles this week.

First, the IXL codes are posted to help you perfect those skills.  A big shout out to all the “IXL-ers”  who are logging in and mastering these skills.  (APPLAUSE!!! APPLAUSE !!!)  “The time is always right to do what is right.” - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Second, read the “5 Big Questions” article published by Scholastic News and answer the questions “What do You Know?”  and “Close Reading” questions.  Write these questions on notebook paper and collect in a folder or download and print.

Third,  read the Newsela article about the Coronavirus and how it relates to you and your own family experience.

Lastly,  take a look at the “Reflection Journal” and write on notebook paper or download and print.  This journal compares how learning at home is different than being at school.  Please keep your journal writng in a folder and feel free to send photos to your teacher.  You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” -  Christopher Robin

Just a few reminders, to set aside designated time to work on class assignments.  Get involved with your class “ZOOM” meetings to stay connected.  We MISS you!   Air hugs to everyone!
